RACECAR/J
It's time to get back to work! We are beginning to stock up on all the parts that make up RACECARs. Due to the Covid-19 situation, disrupted our supply chains. Thank you for you patience as we begin to get the ball rolling again.
We will begin shipping RACECAR/J Robot Base Kits and FlatNose Robot Base Kits this month (October 2022). There is a backlog to get through, so ordering now will get you higher priority.
Thank you for you patience as we begin to get the ball rolling again!

RACECAR/J is a powerful platform for robotics research and education. RACECAR/J bases its design on the open-source MIT RACECAR.
RACECAR/J currently provides the robotic base built upon a powerful 1/10-scale car. There are two different configurations available.
Add compute and sensor components to the RACECAR/J Base Robot kit to complete the autonomous vehicle. For a MIT style RACECAR configuration you will need to add a NVIDIA Jetson Development Kit, a depth camera, such as a Stereolabs ZED camera and a Hokuyo UST-10LX scanning range finder
For both kits, you will also need to add a battery or install a boost/buck voltage converter. This will power the compute and sensor components.
The "FlatNose" RACECAR/J configurations provides more mounting area for other types of sensors. Add a Jetson, a camera (or two) and explore computer vision and machine learning.
The FlatNose provides a large surface for mounting lidars and other sensors. The RACECAR/J base kit is only for the Hokuyo lidar above.
The FlatNose allows more room for adding alternative lidars. For example, there are holes in the platform for the RPLidar A2.
Built ON ROS
The software for RACECAR/J is built upon Robot Operating System (ROS), the defacto standard for open-source robot development.
